Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS): Mikael Ymer (Sweden) is made ineligible to play competitive tennis for eighteen months

ISSN: 2004-9641

In a July decision of the TAS/CAS Tribunal Arbitral du Sport / Court of Arbitration for Sport / Tribunal Arbitral del Deporte (CAS) sitting in Lausanne, it overturned an initial ruling made subject to International Tennis Federation (ITF) on the failure of the player to be present for three ‘whereabout’ drug testing commitments within a twelve month period.

Whereas the initial tribunal had cleared him of sanction, the ITF won its appeal in part, and declared Ymer unable to compete in competitive tennis until January 2024.
