NATO: Nordic members of NATO are to be Limited Partners of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF)

ISSN: 2004-9641

Denmark 🇩🇰, Finland 🇫🇮, Iceland 🇮🇸, and Norway 🇳🇴 (and Sweden 🇸🇪, post accession to NATO) are to become Limited Partners of the participating allies in the fund.

NIF will be a ‘multi-sovereign’ venture capital fund, initially of €1bn, investing in start-ups that develop new technologies, including areas like artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, energy and propulsion, manufacturing, and space.

Its investments will be in dual-use goods that have civilian and commercial applications but also defence and security purposes.

It has just closed the €1bn fund of contributions from 23 states, and will make its first investments later in 2023.
